MONDAY:                                                           lets start ;)

Have you ever see the cover of a book and read the title and guess what it might be about?

or

Have you seen a movie poster and imagine what the movie might be about?

Well if you had you were making predictions!

What is a prediction?

            • A prediction is what you think will happen in the future based on previous knowledge.
              • A prediction must include evidence to support your statement.

Example:

lets say I want to predict what the story  Ratatouille is about just by reading the title and looking at the illustration.

Lets look at the picture, lets find details that would help us with our prediction.

  • there is a mouse against the wall with a piece of cheese on his hand
  • there are knives and forks on the wall
  • there is a sentence: He's dying to become a chef.

Now that we look at the detail on the picture we can try to make a prediction about what the story is going to be about

I think the story is going to be about a mouse that like to cook and people want to kill him because he steels cheese from them.
